Combat Martial Arts

Our boxing training is ideal for both starting or continuing your fitness journey. We teach REAL boxing techniques that are useful in the ring or for self defense. Fundamentals of our boxing program include: Proper warm up and shadow boxing technique, stance and footwork training, mitt and bag work, accurate form and timing, and simulated sparring.  Whether you’re just looking to stay in shape or get in the ring and mix it up, we’ve got what you’re looking for.

Classes

We fuse technical aspects of boxing with plyometrics and high intensity interval training to boost your heart rate and burn hundreds of calories. Learn fundamental boxing skills such as proper form in throwing jabs, hooks and uppercuts, while working at an intense pace. Class is taught in rounds with a warm up, cool down and core work. Push yourself to the limit and find the champion within you!

Private/ Semi-Private Training

Our certified trainers and coaches have a variety of backgrounds and provide individualized attention and a customized approach that can drive faster results and structured progress towards your fitness goals. Our current training programs offer a focus on boxing skills, strength/circuit training, or find the sweet spot through cross training. Boxing-centered training emphasizes proper punching technique, balance, footwork, punch combinations, conditioning, and defensive drills.

Competitive Team

Black Bottom Athletic Club trains male and female boxers to compete and win at the local, regional, national, and international levels. Named after the historic neighborhood that bred Joe Louis and Sugar Ray Robinson, upholding and continuing the legacy is in the soul of Our Team. To be eligible for consideration, boxers must complete a minimum of ten boxing sessions. Upon application to the team, accepted fighters will go through a 6 month foundations program and be expected to train consistently, pay dues, and be available on weekends for competitions.
